Contest “Antonio MEUCCI”




1 – RULES.
The club A.R.I. Versilia “Sergio Cassina” IQ5VR  is proud to announce the second edition of the Contest “Antonio MEUCCI”.
All licensed radio amateurs and SWL all over the world can participate.

Stations members of the club and the accredited stations will give to the connected stations RST report and a progressive number.

2 - ACCREDITED STATIONS.
First three stations classed in the past edition of the Meucci Contest are accredited stations. They are listed at the end of this document.

3 – DATE AND TIME.
The contest starts at 00:00 UTC on Saturday, June 9th, 2013 and ends at 24:00 UTC on Sunday June 17th, 2013.

4 – OPERATING BANDS.
80, 40 and 20 meters. The power must be within the limits of the license.

5 – MODES.
SSB, CW and digital modes.

6 – OPERATING RULES.
Stations of the club A.R.I. Versilia “Sergio Cassina” will call this way:

•    VOICE:                   CQ CQ CQ contest 2nd Antonio Meucci Award;
•    CW:                         CQ CQ CQ 2nd Meucci Award;
•    Digital Modes:         2nd edition Meucci Award

Only one qso or listening a day with the same station is allowed within the same band and in the same operating mode.
QSO and listenings will be worth:

•    SSB Two (2) scores;
•    Digital Modes three (3) scores;
•    CW four (4) scores.

Every day the Jolly station II5MD will be on-air and its qso / listening will be worth five (5) scores regardless from the band and operating mode. This does not apply to the stations belonging to the A.R.I. Versilia Club.
On Monday June 11th the Jolly station II5MD will be worth ten (10) scores to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the admission of the A. Meucci invention by the U.S. Congress.

QSO with the Jolly station give the right to receive the special QSL card of this Award.

All stations belonging to the A.R.I. Versilia club can operate in any mode provided for by international regulations.
All the QSOs must have consecutive numbers.

Changing band and/or emission mode is allowed only after a ten minute interval. Licensed stations can not participate like SWL.
Stations belonging to the State of Vatican City or Republic of San Marino are considered
Italian stations.

7 – SCORES TO GET THE AWARD.
•    Italian OMs and SWLs 25 scores;
•    Foreign Oms and SWLs 15 scores;
•    A.R.I. Versilia members 30 scores.

8 – RESULTS.
All the OMs and SWLs who will require the Award will automatically compete for classed prizes which are divided into the following categories:
•    Members of the A.R.I. Versilia Club and Accredited Stations;
•    Italian Oms (with the exclusion of A.R.I. Versilia members);
•    Foreign Oms;
•    SWLs.

In case of parity will prevail the QSO number and in case of further parity will prevail the shorter time in which all the QSO have been carried out.

9 – PRIZES.
First, second and third ranked Italian OM; First ranked foreign OM;
First ranked SWL;
First ranked accredited station;
First, second and third ranked member of A.R.I Versilia “Sergio Cassina” Club.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners at the site that will host the award ceremony and those not claimed will be sent to their home expenses paid by recipient.

THE DIPLOMA WILL CONSIST IN AN ORIGINAL PENNANT IN 24 x 32cm SIZE PERSONALIZED WITH THE IMAGE SHOWN BELOW.

10 – COST.
•    € 14,00 for all Italian OM/SWL (A.R.I. Versilia Club included);
•    € 19,00 for all E.U. OM/SWL;
•    U.S. $ 23,00 for all extra E.U. OM/SWL.

11 – LOGS.
Logs can be in electronic or paper format. Electronic logs must be in Excel or other
Windows XP readable format. In both cases they must report the following data:

•    QSO number;
•    UTC date and  time;
•    Frequency or band and operating mode;
•    Call;
•    RST sent and received;
•    Progressive number;
•    Scores.
Logs must be submitted imperatively not later then August 30th, 2012 to the Award Manger IZ5JLW Gabriele PARDINI, Via Illica 12, Capezzano Pianore, 55041, Italy. Electronic logs must be sent to: iz5jlw@libero.it

Logs must be completed with all the above data, complete address with phone number and e-mail of the applicant of the Diploma, a copy of the receipt of the crediting to the PostePay and a QSL.
P.O. Box owners must include their full name and call.

The Award management reserves the unquestionable right to make changes at any time to the present regulation and to the graphics of the prizes.

The earnings of the Award, after the expenses, will be donated to the Florence Children
Hospital “MEYER”.
