ORARI AWARDS PROGRAM

ORARI (ORGANISASI AMATIR RADIO INDONESIA) has the pleasure to announce herewith the issue of ORARI Awards Program, i.e.
  1. The "JAKARTA AWARD" (JA/SWL-JA), for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, licensed amateurs in Jakarta (0 Call Area only), the Capital of the Republic of Indonesia.
  2. The "WORKED ALL INDONESIA AWARD" (WAIA/SWL-WAIA), for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, licensed amateurs in each of the Indonesia Call Areas.
  3. The "WORKED THE EQUATOR AWARD" (WTE/SWL-WTE), for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, licensed amateurs in countries along the equator.
  4. The "DANAU TOBA AWARD" (DT/SWL-DT), for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, licensed amateurs in the Province of North Sumatera, Indonesia (6 Call Area).
  5. The "BOROBUDUR AWARD" (BA/SWL-BA), for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, licensed amateurs in the Central Part of Java, Indonesia (2 Call Area which includes the Provinces of Central Java and Yogyakarta).
  6. The "PAHLAWAN AWARD" (PA/SWL-PA), for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, licensed amateurs in the Province of East Java, Indonesia (3 Call Area).


GENERAL RULES
  • ORARI Awards will be issued to licensed amateurs the world over for 2 x PHONE, 2 x CW, 2 x RTTY, mixed or single mode, mixed or single band in 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meter band only. SWL Award in the same category will also be available. The applicant may request endorsement for such distinction accordingly.
  • To be valid, all contact or listening must be made on or after July 9, 1968.
  • Claim must be accompanied by a QSL card list (GCR) furnished with the callsigns of stations worked, dates, bands and modes of contact meeting the requirements of the award concerned. Rules and requirements will be specified, when required, in each of the Award Program.
  • QSL card list must be accompanied by a statement from the applicant's National Society, Club Station, or from any two amateurs other than the applicant, that the QSL cards of the contact listed are in the possession of the applicant, and that the items of the cards are correctly listed.
  • A fee of US $ 8.00 (eight US Dollar only) or 16 (sixteen) IRCs will be charged per award and should be sent along with the application to the respective Awards Manager.
  • For the Indonesian amateurs, a fee of Rp. 40.000,- (fourty thousands rupiahs) will be charged per award, and valid for Jakarta, Worked All Indonesia, Worked the Equator and Pahlawan Awards only.
  • For the Indonesian amateurs, the Jakarta, Worked All Indonesia, and Worked the Equator award fee should be paid to Rekening Giro Pos ORARI PUSAT No. A.13.684.
  • Only contact with land station within the same country will be acceptable.


 
JAKARTA AWARD
Issued for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, stations in JAKARTA (0 Call Area only), the Capital of the Republic of Indonesia, with the following requirements:
  1. DX stations need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, a total of 20 (twenty) stations including at least 1 (one) JAKARTA CLUB STATION.
  2. Indonesian amateurs need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, a total of 50 (fifty) stations including at least 5 (five) JAKARTA CLUB STATIONS.
  3. To apply, send the log extract (GCR), in alphabetical order by prefix along with the award fee to the AWARD MANAGER:

  4. QSL cards are required for the application from the Indonesian licensed amateurs operating within the 0 Call Area, a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE) or sufficient funds for the return postage will also be required.
  5. List of CLUB STATIONS in the 0 Call Area is listed below:

WORKED ALL INDONESIA AWARD
Issued for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, stations in each of the Indonesia Call Areas (1 to 0) under the following requirements:
  1. DX stations other than those in CQ Zone 28 need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, 2 (two) stations from each Call Area; a total of 20 (twenty) QSL cards.
  2. DX stations in CQ Zone 28 need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, 3 (three) stations from each Call Area; a total of 30 (thirty) QSL cards.
  3. Indonesian amateurs need confirmed contact, or having heard from, 5 (five) stations from each Call Area; a total of 50 (fifty) QSL cards.
    Contact with, or having heard from, three different station class (YB/YE, YC/YF, YD/YG) in the same Call Area is compulsory.
  4. To apply, send the log extract (GCR), in alphabetical order by prefix along with the award fee to the AWARD MANAGER:

WORKED THE EQUATOR AWARD
Issued for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, stations from countries (according to the ARRL country list) along the equator as follows: C2, HC, HC8, HK, KH1 & KB6, PP-PY, PY0 (ST.PETER), S9 (SAO TOME), T30, T31, T32, TN, TR, YB5, YB7, YB8, 5X, 5Z, 6O, 8Q, 9Q.
  1. The WTE/SWL-WTE will be issued in 3 (three) classes:
    • Class I for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, 15 (fifteen) countries.
    • Class II for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, 12 (twelve) countries.
    • Class III for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, 8 (eight) countries.
    FOR ALL CLASSES, CONTACT WITH OR HAVING HEARD FROM YB5, YB7, AND YB8 IS OBLIGATORY.
  2. To apply, send the log extract (GCR) in alphabetical order by prefix along with the award fee to the AWARD MANAGER:

DANAU TOBA AWARD
Issued for confirm contact with, or having heard from, stations in the Province of North Sumatera, Indonesia (6 Call Area) with the following requirements:
  1. DX stations need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, a total of 10 (ten) stations including at least 1 (one) NORTH SUMATERA CLUB STATION.
  2. Indonesian amateurs need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, a total of 20 (twenty) stations including at least 3 (three) NORTH SUMATERA CLUB STATIONS.
  3. To apply, send the log extract (GCR), in alphabetical order by prefix along with the award fee to the AWARD MANAGER:

BOROBUDUR AWARD
Issued for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, stations in the Central Part of Java (2 Call Area which includes the Provinces of Central Java and Yogyakarta) with the following requirements:
  1. DX stations need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, a total of 25 (twenty five) stations.
  2. Indonesian amateurs need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, 50 (fifty) stations. All license class (YB/YE, YC/YF, YD/YG) should be obtained, regardless of amount, to reach the total of 50 (fifty) stations to qualify for the application.
  3. To apply, send the log extract (GCR) in alphabetical order by prefix along with the award fee to the AWARD MANAGER:

PAHLAWAN AWARD
Issued for confirmed contact with, or having heard from, stations in the Province of East Java (3 Call Area), Indonesia with the following requirements:
  1. DX stations need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, a total of 20 (twenty) stations including at least 10 (ten) stations in Surabaya.
  2. Indonesian amateurs need confirmed contact with, or having heard from, 50 (fifty) stations including at least 20 (twenty) stations in Surabaya.
    License classes YB/YE, YC/YF, YD/YG should be obtained.
  3. To apply, send the log extract (GCR) in alphabetical order by prefix along with the award fee to the AWARD MANAGER:

AWARD NOTES
When applying for an award, courtesy demands that you observe the following:
  1. Print your name, callsign and address.
  2. Clearly state what award and endorsements you are applying for.
  3. Send the application to the respective Award Manager a ccording to the award claimed and enclose the award fee (in money order or IRCs) as requested. PERSONAL CHEQUES IS NOT ACCEPTED.
  4. For the Indonesian amateurs application must use the Model-K form issued by the ORARI National QSL & Awards Bureau and may be sent directly to the respective Awards Manager for verification and award issue, or having them checked and verified by the assigned ORARI Award Checkpoints/Checkers nearest to their location. A SASE or sufficient funds for return postage should be enclosed along with the application.
  5. Current ORARI Checkpoints/Checkers is listed below:

  7. ORARI stresses the honour of fair play and sportmanship of the applicant working towards these awards. Use of poor ethics will result in permanent disqualification.
