Welcome!
This site allows you to take practice tests in preparation for the United States Amateur Radio (Ham radio) and Commercial Radio licensing exams. The questions and answers used in these practice exams are the official questions provided by the FCC and are organized to mimic the actual written tests as closely as possible.
Welcome to the AA9PW Amateur Exam practice pages. This site helps you practice for the any of the three written examinations required to obtain a US Amateur Radio license. If you are asking “What is Amateur (Ham) Radio?!”, the ARRL has a great site to show you what this is all about:http://www.hello-radio.org/.
Using this site you can take a full practice test by using the form on the top left of this page – pick an exam to try and click ‘Take Exam‘. Alternatively, you can visit the Technician, General or Extralicense pages where you can pick and choose the topics to practice so you can build up to a complete exam.
Once you are up to speed, to obtain your license you will have to take the exam at a testing session run by an accredited Volunteer Exam Coordinator. For more information on this process and to find a testing session near you, try these pages at the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL):
